A Day on the Town Empty
PostSubject: A Day on the Town   A Day on the Town I_icon_minitimeSun Sep 12, 2010 5:02 pm

Light pulled his cellphone out of his back pocket and crossed his legs under the cafe table as he poised his fingers over the keys. Apparently he was supposed to meet some people from school there at the cafe the week before school started. Well, he was there, and now what? The only ones he knew that were coming were Misa Amane, L, and... Mikami? Yes, He was pretty sure it was Mikami Teru, the boy at school who always stood up to the bullies.

Sure, Light liked the guy, but he kept getting himself hurt for no good reason. Those bullies weren't going to stop for anything, it was their life. They were just worthless, they deserved to be put into jail, and that's where Light figured they would be in about a year or so... He slowly rolled his fingers across the keys, debating on whether or no to call everyone and see whether they were coming or not. He really had nothing else to do, anyways.

Maybe he could call someone up, plenty of people would hang out with him, but none of them were really his friends, acquaintances, perhaps? No, he hardly ever talked to half of them anyways. Though he was very social, Light had never really had time for anything else though... he had. His phone was filled with so many names he didn't even know any more. Maybe socialism was a good thing. Maybe it would get him somewhere. Wait, yes it was, it was getting him into the NPA, and the top of his class both popularity wise, and intellectuality wise... Well, tied with L, intellectuality wise.

His eyes seemed to scan through the crowds of people who were talking and kissing each other and he suddenly seemed very... lonely. Bored. Life was too easy, there was no demand anymore, was there? Ah well... Light shook his head, set his phone down on the table and set his head in his hands. Soon, the others would be there and they could plan out something interesting to do for the day. It would be fun. Maybe it would even be... demanding.

L hung his messenger bag slightly over his shoulder while making his way out of the office. He had been called in to help work on a case, but L had found the crime so simple that he left ten minutes into the meeting. The police didn't need his help, they were bright enough to figure that case out. Besides, he had a different kind of meeting to arrive at. Light Yagami... L remembered the basics behind that name. Head of the class last year, knew a fair amount of people (from what he's seen,) and appeared to be an all around decent guy. L wasn't exactly looking forward to the encounter, there were to be a few people there which he knew nothing about. That fact made L slightly keener with his senses. He hated being with strangers, they could turn on him in an instant. Watari had told him to learn everything about everyone, and only be around those you trust. His mind was drifting elsewhere on that day, though, for reasons he wasn't all to certain.

Traveling over to the suggested meeting area, a quaint little café, didn't take much time since he was just at the police station a few blocks down. L was about to open the door when he stopped to think things through. Perhaps he would be an outcast, not knowing so many of the people arriving. He might have to distance himself, sitting on the edge of the table playing with his coffee. For a while L just stood there, overcome with a silly sense of either paranoia or maybe even fright. Of course no one would be open to him at first, but if he just said a few hellos and went with whatever happened next, he should be just fine... Right?

L sighed and walked through the doors, feeling a slight breeze from the rush of cool air and calmed by the doors chimes. The lone young man glanced around the tables for a while before locking his sights with Light. He faked a smile as he slouched over to the table, draping his bag over one of the seats. "Light Yagami?" He asked, though he was certain it was him. "I am L. Thank you for inviting me to this gathering." L pulled back a chair and hoisted himself into it, sitting in his fimiliar crouch as he hugged his knees close to his chest. "Will the others be here soon, per chance?" He only hoped this wasn't a trick, he didn't want to stay alone with one man. Things would've been more interesting if he had stayed with the idiots at the station,

Mikami sighed as he looked in the mirror, affixing bandages to his face. He had been beat up, again, by the same group of bullies as usual while trying to defend a classmate. He always stuck u for others, and usually ended up the one getting hurt for it. Not that he cared, justice was served and the bullies would be punished, as always. He wanted to look his best today, since he was meeting several of his classmates. He grinnned as he fixed his shirt, thinking of how he was never invited to anything, and was usually left out when his classmates threw parties and such. After all, he had to look his best, being in most of the student government clubs. He had to make a good impression and represent his class well.

As he walked down the street, he took mental notes of his surroundings. Everything seemed so familiar and.....for some reason....pure that day. As he strolled past a civilian with a crying child, he reviewed everything he knew about the people he was meeting. L, a brilliant student, but extremely odd and who usually kept to himself. No one really knew much about L, and no one really cared enough to find anything out. Misa Amane, a ditz, but incredibly cute. It was well known that she had just gotten into modeling and acting, which didn't come as a suprise, considering how her intelligence may not have taken her very far anyway. Light Yagami......top of the class, brilliant, popular, good-looking, and with a strong sense of justice. Mikami admired him greatly, and was excited to spend a day with him. As he continued walking, the cafe slowly came into view, and Mikami felt that emotion that he so rarely felt, excitement.

Mikami slowly pushed the door open, jumping a little at the few notes made by the chimes, and walked into the cafe slowly. He looked around for the others, wondering who was already present, and saw both Light and L sitting at a table. His heart leaped nervously, for, while he was brave against the bullies, and was a class representative, he was rather shy when speaking to people one-on-one. As he timidly walked over to the table, he waved and began to think of what to say to the others. "Ah...hello Light...hello L. Do you know when Misa is getting here?" He gulped slightly as he sat down, filled with excitement for whatever adventure the day would hold for the four of them.

Light stood in greeting as the two others arrived, he nodded and smiled. "L. Mikami. Glad to see that you could make it. As Mikami already stated, I believe we're still waiting for Misa, but she's always late, right?" he laughed kindheartedly and took his seat again, taking a look at the two people sitting at the table. By far, he was the odd one out, which was unusual. Mikami looked quite nice. Actually, come to think of it, he had never seen Mikami that, so to speak, 'put together'. L looked... the same. His hair looked like he had rolled from his bed all the way to the cafe, if he even slept anyways, taking into notice the bags under his eyes. Nonetheless, Light held a certain respect for L, constantly butting heads with him to be top of the class. School just wasn't enough though.

Light ran his hand through his hair, his eyes were locked on the door, waiting for Misa to come in. The girl had one of the lowest IQs in the class, in all respect, but Light couldn't deny that she was rather beautiful. He wasn't so completely full of himself that he would go out with her just because she looked good, though. She lacked the minute sliver of intelligence he was looking for, or maybe a bit more that that, come to think of it...

He leaned back in his chair and smiled at L, and then Mikami. "Well, before Misa Amane gets here, we can always discuss what we will be doing for the day, hm? I was hoping we could do something interesting, or out of the ordinary, but if you want to go to an amusement park or a shopping mall, it's fine with me. This is just to get to know each other, right? I'm tired of going out with Misa every day to the nail salon or boutique. Not that I mind, but it get's kind of boring..." Light laughed again, tring to seem more interested in these people than he really was. Neither of them talked very much, did they? "Perhaps we could go to say... spend the day in Tokyo?" Light immediately regretted what he said. Hell, he didn't know if these people could afford to go to Tokyo, he knew nothing about them.

Mikami smiled at his two classmates as he took Light's question into consideration. H had never been to Tokyo before, yet he also hadn't visited a theme park in a while. He began to fiddle with his bowtie, and began to feel nervous. 'When will Misa get here?' He thought to himself. Having that talkative airhead around always made conversations much louder and much less awkward than they were at the moment.

As he delved deeper into thought, he began to weigh the pros and cons of each option. "Hmm.....while an amusement park would be fun, a trip to a shopping mall is more of a financial venture....." He paused and poked his chin in though. "However......a trip to Tokyo may be interesting. I've never been there and I think I have enough money." Mikami grinned as he finished his statement, hoping that Light would take note of how much though he had put into his short speech.

Mikami thought about Tokyo. The lights, the things to do, the excitement. He then thought about the amusement park. THe rides, the screams of joy, the thrills and sweets around every corner. He liked both of those options equally, and thought that either would make for a fun outing. He sat back in his chair and sighed dreamily, pictures of both locations floating through his head.

"I can charter a limo that can take us to Tokyo." L finally spoke up to the group of men before him. "I'll call my driver right now... Though, we would wait for Miss Amane, correct?" This statement only made L feel like more of an outcast. He'd traveled all around the world, while Mikami hasn't even been to Tokyo. "Of course, we can just take a bus if you don't want to. I'd hate to force everyone to ride in a limo if they're not up to it..." L released his knees and sat up, shifting his weight upon his heels. Eight minutes have passed and L still knows nothing about the men before him. He had to ask questions before it drove him insane.

"So I would like to know more about the two of you. If you don't mind, please tell me a bit about the two of you. I can start by saying that I am L. I work as a... Detective with the police, which is where I spend most of my time." L knew he couldn't say to much about himself, Watari told him that it was always to dangerous. They wouldn't know, he would say just enough to appear truthful. It will work.

Mikami grinned at L's offer. "A limo? Really? How do you have one of those?" He felt like he was prying, but was naturally curious and thought of it as his duty as a student representative to get to know the other students better. He leaned forward in his seat, his excitement only growing more for the upcoming day.

"Well, L, I think its all up to Light wether or not we take a limo. I'd love to, but I'll leave the decision to him." Mikami smiled slightly at the thought of riding to Tokyo in a limo, something he had never done before, at his age. Mikami grinned awkwardly and scratched the back of his head at L's inquiry and the info about himself. He had never known L was a detective. Brilliant, yes, but a detective? He had no idea. "Well, L, as you know, I'm very involved with the student body. But I....unfortunately have a problem with bullies. However, I take pride in the fact that I stand up for my fellow students, and those bullies have justice coming to them."

PostSubject: Sorry this is so late~   A Day on the Town I_icon_minitimeSun Sep 12, 2010 8:43 pm

No, no no no, she was so late! How could she keep Light waiting like this again? She was such a bad girlfriend. "Stupid Misa, stupid!" muttering to herself she hurried out of the molding agency. She had a shoot right after school that had lasted longer than she thought. An hour longer to be exact. So instead of being early and spend time with her Light-sama before the nerds got there, she was letting L and Mikami get those precious extra minutes and probably irritating Light at the same time.

She was still in her gothic lolita outfit from the shoot, a dark red beauty from the Brand Name NoirKatz. Luckily her agent buys most of the clothes she wears or she'd have to take an extra who knows how long to change. But where it saved time in changing it caused her to be slower at getting to the cafe. You try running without ripping your stockings, or tripping with lace-up boots. It's difficult.

"Misa's sooo sorry Light!!!!" she burst though the door, startling a few of the customers, "And friends" she added noting L and Mikami. "Misa's photo shoot lasted longer than Misa though, Misa's sorry, don't be mad please!" whimpering she briskly walked over to cling to Light's arm and give him her best puppy-dog eyes.

Light had stood from his chair to greet Misa when she came in, like a proper gentleman. Her grip was digging her fingernails into his skin, but he refused to take notice. He smiled at her and pulled his arm away from her grip to wrap it around her neck. "It's okay, Misa. Actually, we've been talking, it's been fun." he patted her on the shoulder and extended his arm to point at Mikami, "This, is Mikami Teru. He is the president of the student body at school and his sense of justice outmatches anyone I know." He moved his hand over to gesture to L, "And this is L. From what he's just told us, he works as a detective. I'm not very surprised, to tell the truth, we compete for the top spot in the class and neither of us rarely fall from a perfect score." With his gesturing hand, and without taking an arm off of Misa's shoulder, he grabbed a chair from an unused table and sat it beside his own, gesturing for her to sit.

"We've been talking about what we're going to do today, and I think it has already been decided. I presume you will be satisfied with the decision." he smiled over to Mikami, looking into his eyes he could tell that he wanted to go to Tokyo. In the limo. He looked over to L... he didn't care? Light could never tell what L was thinking, he always kept a good blank face. So they were taking his limo. Light had always wondered who the limo belonged to after school, he had never taken the time to connect it to the one person... L. That was absurd that he had that type of money. If he did, why didn't he make himself look more... appealing?

"I suppose we are going in the limo, yes?" Light asked L with a smile, then looking over to Misa to find approval on her face. He really didn't need to ask her, he knew her answer would obviously be what ever he wanted, but he asked, like a gentleman, anyways, "Riding in a limo to Tokyo is alright with you, right Misa?" he asked, placing his arm around her neck and laying it on the back of her chair, with his legs crossed. A day in Tokyo, there might be some adventure there, there always is.

She just about melted at his touch, she always did. Light was just so wonderful, and such a gentleman. He wasn't even mad that she was so late. Oh she was so lucky~ lucky~.

At the introductions she smiled and bowed to both Mikami and L, extending her hand in the professional way she would at the modeling agency. She wasn't friendly enough with them to hug or glomp them, and that might irritate Light anyway. "It's nice to meet you both" she chirped.

After sitting down beside Light, (Move over Yuki, Light was so much better a knight than Zero'd ever be~ Vampire or not!) she listened close to what was said. "Of course Misa would like to go to Tokyo, and a limo sounds fun if Light wants to~" she said quickly, looking over at L like it was the coolest thing she's heard. Even though she was actually kind of use to limos.

L was probably being to generous... and rude to match. Here he was, trying to make a first impression, and they all probably thought that he was flaunting his wealth. L was about to ask Light about himself, a bit curious on why he had said nothing, when the bright and rather perky girl flung herself at him. He had to admit, she was very cute though lacking a bit of self control. L glanced over at her. "Hello, Miss Amane. I do hope that the accomodations will be alright with you as well." L assumed that everyone was alright with his choice vehicle, so he slid his phone out of his pocket and messages his driver to pick them up as soon as possible, along with directions. "It should be about five minutes."

Other than a few sentences that were needed, L kept as quiet as he liked to be. While the others talked he simply sat and staked a bowl of sugar cubes into a pyramid. Soon he would be off with this little group to Tokyo. He could simply travel behind the little pack, observing them along with the surroundings. L didn't fully understand the enjoyment of teenage groups running out and buying meaningless possessions. He gnawed on a cube while wondering why no one was satisfied with what they have. He guessed it was just some sort of silver lining that held together a friendship. Were these people to be his friends? L was told not to make friends of any sort, as they were untrustworthy.

Perhaps, just for one day, L could bend Watari's rules ever so slightly.

Mikami stands up and takes Misa's hand, shaking it. "Ah....hello there Misa. I....haven't actually had the chance to talk to you one-on-one before. I'm looking forward to spending the day with you." Mikami grinned, the excitement gleaming from his eyes. He couldn't wait to go to Tokyo, and in a limo! It was every kid's dream, or so he thought.

Mikami sat back down, replaying what Light had said about him and letting it sink in. He felt proud that Light, fellow classmate, top notch student, and his idol, had said those things about him.
Could he actually find friends within this group? As he looked from each person, he noticed the extremes from which each person went. Misa, bubbly, cute, ditzy model. Light, intelligent, well respected, tidy student. And L, odd, disheveled genius detective. He chuckled to himself slightly. He hoped that within this odd group, he would make friends.

Light smiled and nodded and pushed himself up from the table. "Five minutes then? We should wait outside, we don't want to make a spectacle of ourselves, right?" He grabbed Misa's hand and helped her up. He figured everyone in the group had ridden in a limo before, besides Mikami, of course. Light had ridden in one with Misa awhile back. While walking outside, he remembered L's request that they share something about their selves, as Mikami had. He didn't want to seem stand offish, even to the student who was so interestingly stacking his sugar cubes a while back. He stopped, still holding Misa's hand, as he walked out the door and waited for Mikami and L to follow suit.

"L, I almost forgot that you wanted to know a little about us. I don't want to seem rude so I'll tell you a little. My name, Light, is written with the kanji for moon and read Light." he smiled, it was basically the first thing he told anyone he met, although it was so easy for him to talk about himself. "Hum... My father is the deputy director of the NPA, and some day I wish to earn the title. I suppose you already know that I slide by in school. I believe a lot on the same lines of how Mikami spoke, but I believe he shouldn't get himself hurt for those kids. They're never going to stop, they'll get what they deserve in the end but," Light's speech now turned to be directed towards Mikami, "I don't think you should be putting yourself in harms way, Mikami."

Light stuffed one hand in his pocket, the other around Misa's shoulders and stared off into the distance, waiting for the limo that was reportedly coming to take them off to Tokyo for the day. It would be an interesting trip...

Mikami follows Light outside, and upon hearing the comments directed towards him, looks down sadly at the sidewalk. "But.....Light.....I don't think you understand. I have to stand up against those bullies. Stand up for justice. If I don't, who will? And besides.....what better way to prove your devotion to a cause than getting hurt for it and still believing in it?" Mikami looked up at Light and grinned, feeling proud of himself once more for standing up for what he believed in.

He sighed as he walked behind Light, reassuring himself that getting hurt protecting people was okay. As long as it was him and not the others getting hurt, what was the problem? Not many people cared much for him anyway. He was thought of as a nerd, and annoying, due to his outgoing nature as president of the student body. He sighed once more as he wondered if the world would ever change, and waited for the limo.

Follows along with Light, clinging to his side (though not with her nails) paying close attention to what was being said, nodding furiously at Light's last statement. Oh those bullies! Mikami was so brave for standing up to them but he really shouldn't put himself in danger, like Light said. But.... he was like the superhero from that new movie "Kick-A$$" she'd heard about, so... did that make Mikami a sort of school-wide superhero? She felt awkward for not yet contributing so after a moment of silence she piped up.

"Umm, should Misa share something too?" she asked, looking up at Light.

(Sorry for the short reply)

L stood up in his chair and slumped onto the ground, trailing slowly behind the others. He was satisfied, and relieved, that everyone was excited to go to Tokyo. L stood close by, but a little aways to distance himself. He simply nodded when Light introduced himself. "Your father... Sōchirō Yagami, correct? I've worked with him a few times, he really is dedicated to his work." So Light was born under the justice system. He seemed a fairly innocent boy, which was nice. Mikami appeared a bit clingy, his emotions varied quickly from joy to fear. Misa seemed like every generic teenage girl, quirky and upbeat. An odd group of children, that was a fact. Opposites sometimes connect, however, so there is a chance everyone could get along.
L felt his pager vibrate against his theigh. "The limo is here, everyone..." he said seconds before the black vehicle stretched before them. As the driver opened the door for the group, L casually crawled, crouching in a corner of the leather seats. He gestured for the others to do the same and stared out the window, biting his thumb. "Do not worry, my driver can be quick without breaking the law, and we shall be there in no time."
All that's left now is to wait.

Mikami fidgets slightly as he climbs into the limo, his mind and thoughts racing. What did L think of him? And Misa? And most importantly, what did Light think of him? He was nervous, incredibly nervous. He hadn't been through this amount of emotions in a while, but, as a kid who was mostly picked on and left out, why wouldn't he be?

He looked at L and to Light, with Misa attached to him and chuckled. This ought to be interesting.

Light crawled into the vehicle with Misa, ignoring her question completely, he looked over to Mikami. He shrugged. "Well, I guess it's all a matter of opinion, right Mikami? Anyway, you're very generous, then. I couldn't imagine getting myself beaten up everyday just to support my beliefs. I hate the bullies as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't get slaughtered just to show my rebuttal against them." He smiled and moved his glance over to L as he crossed his legs. He could see a tinge of nervousness in L's eyes, if anything. Not nearly as much as what shone in Mikami's. Acceptance was key in Mikami's world, wasn't it? He had deduced that quite easily enough.

Light was never nervous in a group, it was just his social standpoint that gave him the confidence, he supposed. "We're all very different," he said, pointing out what he had noticed before they had even all met at the cafe, "Yet I believe in some way that we must have one thing in common for us to even consider talking to each other. Opposites attract, yes, but with one common interest. It's fact. What do you think it is, between us?"

Misa sighed, snuggleing close to Light, listening. Her eyes widened at his proposed question though. "Misa knows, Misa knows!" she blurted. Oh darn habbit. Blushing she looked at L then Mikami then at Light.

L, a detective who put criminals in jail.

Mikami, a student superhero who protected the meek and innoccent from evil cruel bullies.

Light, who aspired to be part of the NPA and stop criminals.

They all wanted to do good. They all had a strong sence of justice.... but.... where did that leave her?

"Maybe Misa doesn't know...." she blinked and quieted.

L brought his knees against his chest as he bit his thumb, plummeting deeper into thought on rather useless things. The most important thing was simple. He needed to interact with everyone a bit better. L sighed and tilted his head to observe the group, his panda-like smile finding it's way across his lips. "Everyone here has a strong sense of justice. Mikami, your bravery and kindness towards protecting others are self-righteous in a way. However, the bully wouldn't stop. They just had a different target to abuse. You need to stand up and use your intelligence; talk the bullies out of their acts. If all else fails, tell the principle to deal with serving their punishment." He paused for a second and glanced over to Light. "Light, you were born under a family of justice, referring to your father. I have heard him talking about you from time to time, and it appears that you wish to work in the justice system as well. As for Miss Amane..." He slid his thumb towards the other corner of his smile. "She would do anything for Light, and that could include serving justice with him in the near future. Everyone can be connected in that way, I suppose."
L turned back to the window, letting his hands drop ontop of his knees. He wanted to strike a new conversation to keep from returning to the silence, so he asked: "Miss Amane, I assume that you would know alot about the accomadies in Tokyo. What kind of places are there that we could all enjoy visiting?" L leaned forward and slid open a cooled container, withdrawing four pints of ice cream and distributing them amongst everyone, including spoons. L popped open the lid of his own pint and proceeded to consume it's contents. In his opinion, everything was going well.

"That's a good assumption, L. I assume that could be it between us, but it's a bit of a stretch for my Misa," Light grinned and squeezed Misa's shoulder as he said her name, "Perhaps there's something bigger though, maybe we'll figure it out in the city." he shrugged and pushed the ice cream away from him when L offered. It wasn't that he didn't like ice cream, it was just that... he didn't prefer it. He didn't want to be rude, so he made an excuse, "No thank you, L. I appreciate the offer, but I had something at the cafe before you all arrived." he smiled and placed the carton in the large cup holder by his side. He watched on with interest as L downed the ice cream in nearly record time. There had to be something wrong with the kid, Light could hardly understand why he gained no weight though, at school, gorged himself on sweets and candy. He sat funny in class, and constantly distanced himself from all the other kids. He always seemed so... bored with school? No, that wasn't right answer, it was something else.

Light glanced out the window for a second, holding in the urge to sigh, but failing. These acquaintances hardly ever talked, and by far the one who spoke out the most was Mikami and he seemed to be trying to... prove himself? Light was interested in Mikami, though just a tad. He turned his gaze over to him and smiled, trying to wipe the lethargic look off his face. "So, I was wondering, Mikami. How do enjoy being the president of the student body? You've been the president of our class since..." he looked at the ceiling of the limo and counted the years quickly, though he didn't need to, he had easily remembered. "... elementary years, correct?" Light knew he was right, "You've always seemed yourself just a self-prided person, and very organized. That's cool, yes?" Honestly, by this point, Light didn't understand himself what he was talking about, only that he was attempting to speed conversation with the group who seemed so... awkward with each other. He honestly thought that they could find friends within the group that was so randomly smashed together.

Takes the ice cream and begins eating it, thinking about what L said. He thought that L was wrong, of course. He had told teachers and the principal about the bullies, yet, they neither listened nor did anything to stop it. He knew that most of the bullies would end up being unsuccessful hooligans later, and he had already tried talking to them. They didn't listen, would never listen. He had learned that. They only knew violence, and he was willing to take that in place of their other victims.

He turned to Light when he heard his name, grinning, with the spoon of ice cream still in his mouth. He paused as he took the spoon out of his mouth, his eyes gleaming with the pride of having been president of the student body for so long. He nodded, "Well, I enjoy my postition as student body president. While many people don't respect it, I took the position to better the student's learning careers, and, I try to represent the class the best I can. I always try to set a prime example for our classmates, keeping myself as organized as possible, and my sense of justice intact. Unfortunately, we have....quite a few hooligans among us." Mikami nodded and shoveled another mouthful of ice cream in his mouth. He was glad that he was talking to Light and the others, even if he did sense the slight awkwardness hanging in the air.

"Oh, is that so..." L was slightly curious on how Light didn't enjoy such a wonderous thing such as ice cream. Perhaps he hid a cavity or two behind that keen smile he wore. L simply dropped the empty pint onto the floor as he withdrew a sucker from his pocket. He repositioned himself, slightly arching his feet forward to get a better glimpse at the young adults before him. L rolled the sucker against his tongue absentmindedly as he brought his gaze upon each individual. From the way Mikami acted, he seemed quite... Attached to Light, perhaps in admiration or as a sort of role-model. Light was rather timid, though as he watched L noticed that Light seems to drift into thought from time to time as well. As for Misa, she seemed to be an ordinary, perky schoolgirl, though L noted that her beauty was of that worthy of an actress or model, perhaps. (Though, with her sense of knowledge, he found it odd to think she would memorize more than a few lines.)

L bit into the sucker's core, sending a slight crack through the rather quiet air. He has read and studied a bit on average teen behavior, and from what it seems, things weren't going to well as far as conversation. Everyone was still rather uneasy around one another. He didn't mind though, the silence helped him clear his mind and think. The travel should only last a few minutes more, seeing how the driver was sneaking his way past the speed limits. L spoke up, in a slightly dreary voice. "Everyone, I assume that we will be arriving in downtown Tokyo in approximately five minutes... If things go well." L flicked the sucker's lonesome stem against the emtpy ice cream pint. Now the interesting time of day was to begin.
